March 24: Tom and Kai Gilb - Lean Startup, Lean and Agile Project Management with Evo

We'd like to invite you to our next ALE Krakow meeting, with very special guests from Oslo.

Tom and Kai Gilb

Lean Startup, Lean and Agile Project Management with ‘Evo’: A Comparison of two cousins, with different assumed environments.

Abstract:
The essence of Lean Startup, and the ‘Evo’ project management processes are the same. They are based on rapid multiple critical-factor measurement,  on rapid learning and change; with the objective of rapid value delivery to stakeholders.

They are both essentially different from conventional agile methods such as Scrum, with User Stories: which is not based on multiple quantified value delivery.

We will try to give enough comparative description that you will have a better understanding of which development process is appropriate for your purposes.

About speakers:
Tom Gilb and Kai Gilb have, together with many professional friends and clients, personally developed the Agile methods they teach. The methods have been developed over five decades of practice all over the world in both small companies and projects, as well as in the largest companies and projects.
There are many organisations, and individuals, who use some or all of their methods. IBM and HP were two early corporate-wide adopters (1980, 1988). Recently (2012) over 15,000 engineers at Intel have voluntarily adopted the Planguage requirements specification methods; in addition to practicing to a lesser extent Evo, Spec QC and other Gilb methods.  Many other multinationals are in various phases of adopting and practicing the Gilb methods. Many smaller companies also use the methods. They have advised top management at UK Companies on Business Agile in 2013 and earlier.

33rd Degree Conference

More and more Agile events are coming to Krakow. We've already informed you that on 20-22 August we will be hosting ALE2014 unconference. On 16-17 June we will see Agile Central Europe Conference. Now we're happy to share news about one more Agile and Lean event that will happen just week before ACE!

33rd Degree Conference is a largest Java conference in central Europe, and one of the biggest in Europe. We know that good Java developers love Agile, and so we've seen Jeff Sutherland speaking at 33rd Degree 4 Charity on October 2013.

Forth edition of 33rd Degree will happen on 9-11 June 2014 in Krakow. As usually we're expecting lot of Agile stars. So far, their presence confirmed Mary and Tom Poppendieck, who over decade ago, translated ideas of Lean Production to Software Development.Tom Gilb, grandfather of Agile, and creator of EVO methodology will join us as well.

You can find more details at conference web site: http://33degree.org.
